Abrace la belleza y la curva

Sometimes, I toil with my own perceptions of what beauty represents for me. There are truly so many beautiful people and things in the world, one could hardly turn left or right without catching a glimpse. In fashion, an industry built on peoples perception of beauty, conceptually beauty becomes less complex, and more one dimensional, especially on the runways. This is an old and ongoing struggle for most individuals who venture into this world but perhaps don't quite fit the "ideal" conventions of high fashion society.  It's never been my style to shy away from any challenge and for me it's a personal mission to invent, redesign, and cultivate a new culture in the fashion world. A world that embraces every ethnicity, size, and creed, a culture united by the beauty that lies, within us all. Ignore the ordinary constraints of society's ideals, let your style mantra, be bold and beautiful, be you!

A walk in the park!

I've been salivating on furs for the past couple of months. The only challenge forms is how do I afford  what is the truest representation of luxury, status, and refinement in fashion., Although,  I'm still aiming high, I haven't hit that level of achievement just yet. In the meantime, feel free to indulge in faux furs and vintage furs. They offer the affordability, style, and comfort if you are a supporter of vegan clothing.

Baroquilisms

According to wiki, the Baroque, is a period of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance, and music. The style began around 1600 in Rome, Italy and spread to most of Europe. The patterns reminiscent of this era, have superimposed itself, as a rich gold tapestry, empirically ascribed on t-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets this year.  This look has been championed by the likes of Two Chains, French Montana and Tyga, though lending its heritage from the days of the Baroque period, it is very present within the urban apparel wearer. So how do you wear it? Pair your choice baroque inspired piece with leather jeans, riding pants or joggers.

Russian Roulette

Sometimes while shopping, you find something that you like but its maybe a little out of your comfort zone. Trying something new isn't always easy, because if nothing else, you want a certain level of comfort, in what you are wearing. However, every now and again,  you have to trust your instincts, as what may seem like a gamble, may indeed be a sure thing. So be confident, be bold, and be dangerous in style.

Wearing Leather to the Office

Leather is trending true to form in most of our wears. It would be hard not to stumble upon this rich textile  or even the faux version, when shopping for your closet. However, with that being said, we all have to put on our curators lens, being careful to edit and cut when necessary. What you don't want to happen is, to one day open your closet and see a sea of this rich hide on every hanger. Do indulge in this decadent texture, if even if you are wearing it to work. Leather  already has an edgy tone, so keep it simple in terms of color and form. I chose to pair my leather pencil skirt with a modest mock sweater and my classic Ralph Lauren slippers. The subtle layering of textiles creates harmony among the three pieces without competition. You might decide to incorporate leather in a different way, do play around with classics such as the blazer or a vest even but remember as stated before be selective in your color choices and shy away from dramatic prints.
