My beanie, is my new favorite accessory. I imagine it goes with everything, so I wear it with everything. The veil on the front, adds just the right amount of femininity to what is usually considered a more androgenous hat. Beanie style hats have a long associated history with all things grundge, as it's likley worn by construction workers, skate boarders etc. My first sighting of the embellished beanie, came from Vogue Italia streetstyle candids. However, I couldn't find one locally, so mine was purchased from the overseas retailer, Missguided. Although it was a long wait, which is the norm for overseas buys, it was well worth it!

Sometimes it's the small details that make a look speak louder. Paying attention to fit, style, and accesories really bring the look to life and separates your style from the rest. Execute your flair, while remaining true to yourself and it will make all the difference. Don't get caught up on other peoples opinions and just do what feels right too you, style is guaranteed to follow, if it isn't already present. Wearing a phenomenal dress perfect for all occasions doesn't hurt either !

This Christmas season, most if not all of my shopping was completed online. I wasn't up for dealing with crowded stores or contending with the cold weather. During my endless hours of trolling the internet for promo codes and adding things to my wishlist on pintrest, I stumbled upon deals that no one could pass up. My thriftiest find was a groupon, I bought from American Apparel. Although it can only be redeemed for an in-store purchase, it was worth me deviating from my online acquisitions, to make my way to their "Made in the USA' storefront. What I love about American Apparel, besides the whole ethically made stuff, is that they always have the basics, you know essentials, usually in every color, you could ever imagine. Of course i bought just that, essentials, but I couldn't leave without this awesome print skirt that was eerily reminiscent of the famous patterns of the Missoni design house. Below I decided to demonstrate how switching up your accessories can extend the life of one item.

My style is influenced by so many things. From day to day, there isn't one thing that I rely on to dictate, what I choose to wear. Today, my inspiration was from Betty Rubble of the Flintstones. Although I loved Wilma's white one shoulder frock, I identified most with Betty, with her black hair, infectious giggle and all around cuteness. So today my look is an homage to all the Betty's!

Sorry, I haven't posted in a while, but the winter weather isn't something that's easy to conquer, when I want to blog. So of course, I had to take advantage of the break in weather, so I dressed my mood today which isn't hard to discern.Which brings me to another observation that I recently made, I 'm finding with my current hairstyle, that I am more inclined to make bolder choices in color. Does your hair style influence how you dress? In my case it does but perhaps that's the stylist in me, thinking of every little detail.

The bookmark of the moment in fashion is to adopt the "athleisure" style. If your next question is what is "athleisure" then you may find yourself out of the proverbial loop, in the fashion arena (all pun intended). Athleisure, is a new term coining the trend of incorporating or using sports and athletic wear into your everyday style. With a minimalist casual approach designers such as Alexander Wang, Givenchy, and Chanel have headlined their more recent collections with this theme. These designers are among many, who are making innovative and bold choices, that have not only influenced street style but brought change to they way we think about our clothing, normally reserved for the gym and sporting events. Being a champion of comfort and style myself, I for one am happy, to already be on this bandwagon and hope that this is one trend, that is here to stay.

As a style blogger you must be a supporter of thrifty spending. It's a priority to be a step ahead of the rest regarding trends so you find yourself constantly shopping and acquiring new things. Often times when we shop, we make the mistake of assuming that because something cost less, it looks and is in fact cheap. Nothing can be farther from the truth. In fact retailers like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, H&M, and Zara have shown us the way, to mimic the designer duds, that are simply out of reach do to their hefty price tag. My look of the day, is actual proof that style makes all the difference, not cost. I'm wearing a sweater from Charlotte Russe $20, pants from TJ maxx $17, shoes from Burlington Coat Factory $20 and a top from JCP $13 for a whooping $70, I have a head to toe look, that is definitely what I call, blog worthy!

The blogger life isn't all always about glamour and shopping. It involves some extensive information gathering, visits to events, fashion shows, museums, reading other blogs, magazines and the like to even make a dent in the overwhelming amount of information that is at your grasp. If this sounds like it can become tiresome, its because it is. In between those moments of surfing the net for the latest trends or "it" story, you have to find time to enjoy the very thing that everyone is raving about, LIFE. So here's a little snapshot of my timeline for this past weekend, enjoy, I did!!

The Scuba Skater Skirt, is a curvy girls friend. This style is modern and playful and accentuates the hourglass figure. I'm in love with the color and texture of my new skirt purchased form Eloquii. The scuba material is soft and built for the working girl on the move!!

The boxy top was rampant on runways of the S/S 2014, season. Designers with an affinity for the sport aesthetic, created both whimsical and practical versions of this stylish top. The shape is very architectural and lends the wearer room for error, so you can hide those things that you find unflattering on your upper body quite easily. In the era of the crop top I find this silhouette more forgiving and creates sleek line, that accentuate a dynamic look.

Friday night was indeed a knockout, in terms of fashion, fun, and entertainment for the DMV Honors Celebrity Weekend of Champions. The weekend to celebrate some of DC's renown boxers, began with a lovely ceremony that featured none other than songstress, Marcia Ambrosius. The events were well attended and style did not escape these athletes, known for their elusive moves, bob and weave!
